Starting with a blank canvas and a fairly open brief was more complicated than it sounds however the expectation to wow both owners and guest meant the space needed to perform at a very high level. Fitting of all the modern day luxuries an inner Melbourne family requires meant that everything needed a place and the puzzle had to fit perfectly into the backyard.

This tight outdoor space turned has been turned into a comfortable and well proportioned backyard while little room for plants meant there was a particular importance on getting a balance of surface textures.
