How We Work

Projects vary from one to the next and there are many factors that determine the degree of documentation required to communicate the design.

Consultation

Most projects begin with an initial phone call and a Consultation on site. This is our chance to get to know who you are. We discuss your expectations and look at possible outcomes. It allows us to assess the site and we use our findings as the basis for our design. This meeting also allows us to formulate our Fee Proposal. We encourage a written brief and outline what we require from you to move forward.

After receiving your signed Form of Agreement and Acceptance Fee we schedule in a date to revisit and document the site. With the assistance of your Site Survey and Architectural/building plans we start preparing my Site Plan.

Site Plan

During this stage of the project we anylise the site to look at how to make the most of your property. By working with the land and understanding the Architecture we develop a concept that connects the two. While function takes the lead it is form that makes your space unique.

Concept

Our initial sketches are pieced together to create Concept Presentation which outlines the garden layout, plant selections and material palette. From our Concept Meeting you take home a colour Concept Plan which we encourage you to study and provide feedback on. If any fine tuning is required this is our chance before progressing to the Construction Documents.

At this stage an invoice will be issued for the initial stage and the Fee for Construction Documentation will be assessed encase any additional Details are required.

If your project involves a DA submission now is when we develop a Landscape Plan to

accompany your DA application. We understand timing is important and do our best to ensure any deadlines are met.

Construction Documentation

Just as the Concept Plan is used to communicate the design to you, the client, the Construction Documents are used to communicate the design to a contractor. What Plans & Details are included will depend on your project. Commonly a Hardscape Plan and Planting Plan will be supplied and may be accompanied by Pool Plans, Lighting Plans, Construction Details for Pavilions or Kitchens and even Sculptural Designs. Your Plans will be suitable for Council submissions and go hand in hand with further Engineering Details if required. At the completion of the Documents if you wish I can select a suitable contractor for quoting the project and assist them so they understand your expectations.

Please Note: Completion times will vary depending on amendments and subsequent meetings along the way. Expect each stage to take a fortnight unless other formal arrangements have been made.
